We were both awake before 6am so the TV was on at 5:50 – too early for the Wake Show (which is recorded the night before anyway0. We are horrified at the violence and rioting in London which no doubt will be repeated in other UK cities. Smashing the windows and the blatant looting of innocent traders, or setting fire to random vehicles never achieved anything other than causing grief, so hopefully, the UK will come down hard on the guilty, but somehow, I don’t think they will. Meanwhile we are travelling safely through various countries where they really do know about poverty and many have experienced the downside of corrupt leadership.
Anyway, we count our blessings every day for being able to experience these other countries from the relative luxury of a floating hotel with fantastic people.
There were so many people queuing to play bowls that we decided to give it a miss and go straight for the coffee (oh yes, and a tiny chocolate doughnut...).
Dance class was the quickstep again (for beginners really) but you have to hand it to Alana as she manages to cope with the tiny dance area without batting an eyelid.
After 75 days, we finally won a quiz – even though it was on a tie breaker. (Lee, our resident DJ) was born in 1986.So,a tip for future cruisers. As early as possible, try and find out the birthdates of the entertainment staff...
Instead of the usual luggage tag, keyring or tiny torch, we emerged with rather useful drink bottles – the type that are relatively leak-proof.
After dinner, we did the 9:30pm quiz in the Atrium – on “beverages”... This time we came equal third. Not bad for sober people.
Tomorrow, Costa Rica and a scheduled stop at Puntarenas and we are booked on a Princess “easy sightseeing” three and a half hour tour.
